Level 6 Professional Diploma Syllabus

 
 

Changes to the professional Diploma.

Professional Diploma accreditation has been awarded through the Qualification and Curriculum Authority onto the National Qualifications Framework at Level 6. Brilliant! just what the industry needs, so what does it mean in reality?

bullet Modular format containing 6 units in total allowing attainment in stages - gone are the days of a large memory test of 6 hours on one day in June
bullet 6 parts to the written examination and the management examination day remains largely the same. Written parts will be available in both December and June
bullet Fairer access for all as once a written stage is passed, this is held for a 5 year period.
bullet Level 6 is equivalent to an Honours degree and as stated by the Qualification Curriculum Authority 'level 6 qualifications recognise a specialist high level knowledge of an area of work or study to enable the use of an individual's own ideas and research in response to complex problems and situations. Learning at this level involves the achievement of a high level of professional knowledge as is appropriate for people working as knowledge-based professionals or in professional management positions. Level 6 qualifications are at a level equivalent to Bachelors degrees with honours, graduate certificates and graduate diplomas'.

                 2. Management of Tree Health and Identification, Prevention and Control of Pest,

                     Diseases and Disorders

                 3. Tree Management and Maintenance

                 4. Management and Organisation of Tree Care Operations

                 5. The Processes of Selection, Purchase, Handling, Planning, and Planting Stock

                 6. Management of Amenity Woodlands, Veteran Trees and Habitat Conservation
